DCC and DPC Joint Workshop on Digital Curation Cost Models

Usable and practical cost models are essential for long-term, sustainable
digital curation and preservation efforts. The Digital Curation Centre and
the Digital Preservation Coalition are pleased to announce a joint one-day
workshop to explore cost models for long-term curation. This event will be
held at the British Library in London on 26 July 2005. The workshop will
provide case studies outlining practical examples of cost models currently
being developed and overviews of international research activities looking
into the development of cost models.

The workshop will help individuals to develop sustainable funding models
within their organisations for long-term curation and preservation activity.
Dates
This workshop will be held from 9.00am until 5.00pm on Tuesday 26 July 2005.
Key themes include:
-Identifying the life-cycle of digital information for cost modeling
purposes
-Practical models that are being developed through current research projects
-Real-life examples of cost modeling activity from the HE/FE, cultural
heritage and scientific domains.
