The 28th Annual ACM SIGIR International Conference on Research and
Development in Information Retrieval
August 15-19, 2005, Salvador, Brazil
CALL FOR PAPERS
SIGIR is the major international forum for the presentation of new
research results and for the demonstration of new systems and techniques
in the broad, and increasingly relevant field of information retrieval
(IR). The Conference and Program Chairs invite all those working in areas
related to IR to submit original research papers and posters, and
proposals for tutorials, workshops, and demonstrations of systems. In
addition, applications to a highly selective Doctoral Consortium are
invited.
SIGIR 2005 especially encourages submission of work in user interfaces,
human-computer interaction, personalization, information visualization,
user modeling and related areas, in the context of information retrieval.
Area Coordinators for these aspects of SIGIR 2005 are Pia Borlund, Royal
School of Library and Information Science, Denmark, and Nicholas Belkin,
Rutgers University, USA
