"From Soup to Nuts: Blogs, Blogging and the Greater Impacts to Information
Science"

TIME: Dinner/networking at 6:30pm, Program to follow
WHERE: Campus of Johns Hopkins Applied Phyics Lab, Laurel MD

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
The terms "Blog" and "Blogging" are becoming as familiar as "Google."
This program will cover blogs from the basics to the complex.
Our three panelists will provide the basics on blogs, such as: What
is a blog? How do you create one? Software? Hardware? What's a feed?
What
type of committment does a blog require? Why blog?
We'll also discuss the "deeper" aspects of blogs, such as the impact of
blogging on information science/information architecture, institutional
blogging,
blogs and personal knowledge management, the use of blogs for research, and
blogs as a method for information collection, categorization, and
dissemination.
Enjoy an evening of great food, great networking opportunities, and learn
more about this great topic. If you haven't engaged your brain since
