Four New FACULTY POSITIONS at School of Information Studies at the
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee

The School of Information Studies (SOIS) at the University of
Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) is recruiting for four new tenure-track faculty
positions at the assistant, associate or full professor rank, to begin in
Fall 2003. Candidates should be committed to teaching and research in an
interdisciplinary environment and have the ability to teach at the
undergraduate and graduate levels. 

Preference will be given to applicants with specialization in two or more
of the following areas:
 
Information technology, informatics, information & records
management, knowledge management, information economics, database
management, information organization, electronic publishing, web
development, network management, information marketing, electronic
information resources, digital libraries or digital archives, management
of information systems & services.

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Prior teaching and

The search and screen committee will begin to review applications by
December 10, 2002, and will continue until positions are filled.

The growing School of Information Studies offers the Master of Library and
Information Science (MLIS) degree and the Bachelor of Science in
Information Resources (BSIR), undergraduate and graduate certificates, as
well as seven coordinated (double)  interdisciplinary masters in
cooperation with other departments in the College of Letters & Science and
the Peck School of the Arts. It is also the administrative home of the
area of concentration in Educational Media Technology in the Urban
Education Doctoral Program and collaborates with other academic programs
in offering a multidisciplinary Ph.D. The SOIS currently enrolls more than
