As always, please submit the report through http://www.softconf.com/asist2/StudChapYear/cgi-bin/scmd.cgi?scmd=basicSubmit Remember - this year, we also have a new award for three chapters with most positive change in their memberships. The award includes free registrations for the Annual Meeting in Seattle. See the forwarded message below. Also, to inspire you, attached are the annual reports from last year?s winners - Simmons and University of Denver. Their citations are as follows. --- Simmons GSLIS The student chapter of Simmons has done excellent recruitment through creative methods. They have even developed an impressive FAQs for recruitment! These efforts have resulted in more than 300 memberships. The student chapter also hosted a number of heavily attended events, including a tour of Google Cambridge. It invites faculty from other universities as guest speakers, which helps broaden students' view of the field. They also actively work with and participate in events with a regional group NEASIS&T, the New England Chapter. These activities and efforts have opened the door to many exciting opportunities for its members and propelled the chapter in the direction for continuous growth. ---- University of Denver For a chapter of their size, Denver is extremely active. The number of national members, amount and quality of activities, constant communication, carefully monitored finances, and administration of this chapter is quite impressive. The chapter offers many diverse and interesting activities and has attempted to work with other organizations. It has also shown creative use of social media as communication tools. They not only have a well-maintained organization, but also clearly articulated future plans. ---- Best, Chirag Shah, PhD Assistant Professor of Information and Computer Science Rutgers University 4 Huntington St, New Brunswick NJ 08901 p. Those issues are now fixed, so if you tried submitting the report before and received an error, please resubmit. The deadline is also now extended to July 15. I hope this helps! Remember - your chapter report is mandatory. If you don?t submit by this deadline, you still need to submit it later. But the advantage of submitting it now is that your chapter will qualify for various awards and funds that we have. So don?t miss this opportunity!
