Hi everyone,

CHAPTER AWARDS
---------------
Please note that the deadline for a number of Chapter Awards is August 15.
These include:

1) Chapter of the Year
2) Chapter Member of the Year
3) Chapter Event of the Year
4) Chapter Publication of the Year
5) Chapter Innovation

The deadline for the Student Chapter of the Year Award is July 1, as Chirag
had notified earlier.

You'll find details about the chapter awards and nomination process at
http://www.asis.org/awards.html

CHAPTER DEVELOPMENT FUND
------------------------
We'd encourage you to apply for the chapter development fund to assist in
the development of your chapter. A regional chapter may request up to
$1,000 from the Chapter Development Fund annually. A student chapter may
request up to $200 from the Chapter Development Fund annually. Joint
projects, including any combination of regional and student chapters, may
request up to $1500. annually. Here are the details and the online
application form http://www.asis.org/Chapters/chapterdevfundform.html

CHANGES VOTED DURING THE LAST CHAPTER ASSEMBLY IN OCTOBER 2012
--------------------------------------------------------------
In order to enhance greater collaboration and knowledge sharing within and
among chapters, SIGs and other bodies, the Chapter Assembly approved the
following three changes at the 2012 Annual Meeting (something that officers
of Student and Regional Chapters need to note):

1) Judging criteria for student and regional Chapter-of-the-Year awards
will be modified to have 5 points allocated for collaboration with any SIG,
chapter or a body within or outside ASIS&T. For the student chapter award,
these points would be taken from the 40 points allocated for Chapter
Activities. [Jury will take a lenient view of this criteria this year]

2) We will create an opt-out (instead of opt-in) to the various lists for
leaders. If you are a chapter leader, you are automatically added to the
key lists such as the list for all chapters and any other list.

3) From this point forward, all student and regional chapter annual reports
will be made public (instead of them being viewed only by the jury), but
only after the jury has decided on the award. A chapter submitting a report
will have an opt-out option in the submission form if it doesn’t want the
report to be made public. [or you could contact us by email should you wish
to opt out]

YOUR SUGGESTIONS
----------------
We have implemented certain changes. These include monthly Skype meetings
of the Chapter Assembly Advisory Committee, and beginning to revisit some
of the documents - bylaws / chapter officer manuals, etc. Do please let us
know your feedback, concerns and suggestions, as well as any update about
your chapter. These will be helpful to discuss during the upcoming ASIS&T
Board Meeting 3 weeks from now, and also for the Chapter Assembly to take
up.

Warm regards,

Will (Director) and Naresh (Deputy Director)
ASIS&T Chapter Assembly
