Postdoctoral position at the Web Use Project, Northwestern University

The Web Use Project, a social science research group at Northwestern
University, is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher. The postdoc will
collaborate with Professor Eszter Hargittai in analyzing and writing
up survey, observational and interview data collected about people?s
Internet uses, skills and participation. Some of the work may also
involve new data collection using different methods (e.g., in-person
observations of people?s Web usage, surveys of people?s Internet
uses). See www.webuse.org for more information about the research
group, ongoing projects and previous publications.

The appointment is for full-time employment. The salary is $40,000 for
a 12-month appointment and includes full benefits (benefits
information is available at www.northwestern.edu/hr). The postdoc will
work in the newly redesigned Web Use Project lab and will have access
to undergraduate research assistants. Support for travel to an
academic conference to present work from the project may be available.
This position does not have a teaching requirement.

Applicants must have a doctoral degree in Communication, Sociology,
Political Science, Psychology or a related field by the time of
appointment. Requirements include knowledge of quantitative methods
and demonstrated writing skills as well as a proven track record in
publishing and working collaboratively. The candidate must have met
all doctoral degree requirements prior to the first day of employment.

research experiences and expertise would contribute to the project;
and (b) your long-term goals. The letter should also include the name,
affiliation and contact information (email and phone number) of three
references (there is no need to send letters at this time).

3.       E-copies of up to three of your published papers/scholarly work
