The School of Information and Library Science at the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks applicants for post doctoral fellow positions
in two areas:
Policy-based Data Management. This position will characterize data
management applications in terms of collection properties, policies,
procedures, and state information and apply this approach to the development
of the integrated Rule Oriented Data System (iRODS).
Research activities include development of policy languages, creation of
community specific policies and procedures, and verification of
consistency of policy sets as they evolve. Experience in C
programming, databases, and rule engines is required. Send statements of

Digital Library Systems and Services. This position requires research
interest at the intersection of information retrieval and human computer
interaction. The position entails leading efforts on a video digital
library operation and transition and participating in an ongoing project
related to multi-session, collaborative search services. Experience
developing web services, using content management systems, and usability
