I'll echo Candy: Go for it!
I went to my first ASIS conference during my third MLS semester, and
it was there that I first learned about the many exciting tributaries
of our field. This revelation radically changed my perspective on LIS
and my future career possibilities. I also met other students,
scholars, and practitioners -- the whole atmosphere is very welcoming
to students.
Also, consider contacting the ASIS&T office about being a student
volunteer. You give up some of your free time at the conference to
fulfill the obligation, but (at least back in the day) they'll give
you a break on registration, and it's a fun way to get to know some
students from other schools.
