  COPYRIGHT ISSUES FOR SCHOOLS VIDEOCONFERENCE

  When/Where: Friday, February 27, 2004; 1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. @ OVAL

  Costs: ALL STAFF of academic, public, school and special libraries are
invited to come to OVAL and participate in this workshop FREE!

  This videoconference is offered in various locations throughout Ohio,
including OVAL. GCLC Regional Library System is the host agency. Check with
GCLC, your local regional library system for the location nearest you!

  ---While copyright is an issue for all educational institutions, schools
often have questions that are specific to school settings. This workshop
will discuss the basics of copyright law and recent changes, the 2002 TEACH
Act, educational fair use and getting permission. A large part of the
workshop will be used to give opinions on specific questions or scenarios
relating to school libraries and departments. Registrants are asked to
forward detailed questions on specific scenarios to the presenter ahead of
time at jasperpac at countryday.net if possible.
