AVOIDING LIABILITY FROM THE PROBLEM PATRON

Valley Area Libraries (OVAL), 252 W. 13th Street, Wellston, Ohio

Presented by: Jacqueline Orlando, Associate Director of Public Services,
Capital University Law School

Costs: Free to OVAL/MOLO/SOLO Members; $25.00 per person to all others

---This workshop is intended to teach participants the basics of tort and
liability law, including ways to avoid liability resulting from problem
patrons. There is an emphasis on specific library scenarios and suggestions
for staff response.

Presenter Jacqueline M. Orlando is the Associate Director of Public Services
in the Law Library at Capital University Law School. Professor Orlando
teaches Legal Research and Writing, and Electronic Legal Research. She is
also a mediator in the United States Federal District Court. Prior to
joining Capital, Professor Orlando was a research librarian at The Supreme
Court of the United States in Washington, D.C., and a reference librarian at
the Fine Arts Library of the Columbus Metropolitan Library.
