From wilsontd at gmail.com Tue Jan 2 05:20:45 2018 From: wilsontd at gmail.com (Prof. T.D. Wilson) Date: Tue, 2 Jan 2018 10:20:45 +0000 Subject: [Siguse-l] "Crowd reviewing" for a text Message-ID: I am developing a text, tentatively entitled "Exploring information behaviour". You can find the text at https://exploreib.wordpress.com - it will be published in parts, giving an opportunity for anyone to comment on the text, which will be revised to take account of comments, suggestions, criticisms, etc. - or, at least, to take account of some such :-) You may comment using the blog's comment facility, or you can communicate directly with me. Eventually, I may seek a publisher for the text, or I may simply make it available as an open access Website or as an e-book. Chapter 1 of the text is now available. Thanks in advance for your comments. Tom Wilson ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Professor T.D. So, it is time to put up Chapter 2, which is a bit longer and which may result in some comments and/or suggestions. I really would like some feedback, since I have no other way of knowing whether or not the text is likely to serve any purpose - if you think it isn?t needed, let me know! Chapter 2, as the latest entry, comes at the beginning of the text at https://exploreib.wordpress.com I am sending this message to only three or four lists, so, if you know of others, please pass on the information. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Professor T.D. Part 2 of Chapter 3 will follow in due course, but there may be a wait after that as Chapter 4 is not yet finished. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Professor T.D. A little more feedback would really help! I see that some departments are passing the word around internally and that at least one school has a link in its digital learning platform - I'd be interested to know how the document is being used and, if students are using it, what their opinions are. Given the comparative sized of the field in the UK and the USA, I'm somewhat surprised to find more views from the UK than from the USA (380 vs 332) - perhaps this is because I'm posting to a general professional list in the UK but not in the USA.
