The Department of Information Resource Management in the Business School at Nankai University invites applications for 1-2 faculty positions.
Introduction
Nankai University is one of the top research universities in China. Department of Information Resource Management at Nankai University provides undergraduate and graduate level (including Master’s and Doctorate level) LIS programs. It is one of the top LIS programs in China and dedicated to improve LIS education in China and promote communication and collaboration with international LIS academic communities. The faculty in this department is devoted to research and teaching. Half of faculty members are now sponsored by Chinese National research grants, including research projects that explore the issues related to theories in information science, management of public libraries, digital library evaluation, digital poverty in rural areas, information services for migrant workers, knowledge management, and so on. We welcome PhD or PhD candidates (should finish PhD program before July 2012) join our department.
Qualifications:
• Can teach in Chinese
• Ph.D. in information science, library science, archival science, computer science, or other pertinent fields
• Prefer a strong technical background in systems development, digital library construction, web data mining, and so on.
• Demonstrated potential for high scholarly impact
• Demonstrated potential for successful teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
A successful applicant will be granted a package of benefits from Nankai University, including medical insurance, allowance for housing, and so on. Also, based on the negotiation with the Business School, the applicant may take a normal track or special support track, with different contracts.
