Dear SIG USE members,

As you may know, the deadline for submissions for the ASIST conference is rapidly approaching. Even though the structure of 2010 Annual Meeting has been changed quite a lot, SIG USE still sponsors panels for submission. The only difference is that you will need to choose one track out of six different tracks rather than submitting into a general pool as we've done in the past.

I was told that a heavy emphasis will be placed on selecting sessions that are not the traditional "3 talks with questions" model. They are looking for real panels, interactive sessions, question/response, etc. As we did in the past, SIG USE Executive Committee does not "review" your panel proposals; we are basically deciding whether your panel topics are within the scope of SIG USE.

If you want to get SIG USE sponsorship for your panels, please send your proposal to Soo Young Rieh (rieh at umich.edu<mailto:rieh at umich.edu>) no later than May 27, 2010. The SIG USE Executive Committee will try to make our decision about sponsorship within 2-3 days. Please feel free to contact me if you have any other questions.

Best wishes, Soo (SIG USE Chair 2009-2010)
