Call for Contributions
3rd International Evidence Based Librarianship Conference
Evolution of evidence: global perspectives on linking
research with practice.
Brisbane, Australia
16-19 October 2005
Submission of abstract deadline 1 April 2005
The conference offers a forum for scholarly discussion about
the role and future of evidence based practice within the
ever-changing library industry. The conference is a place
for all library and information professionals regardless of
their specialisation who are interested in learning how to
harness evidence to establish best practice and to make
informed decisions that will facilitate excellence in
library and information services. The conference challenges
us to rethink and refine the way in which we work as library
and information professionals in the twenty-first century.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Using research to inform practical decision-making
Drawing on evidence to maximise the value and impact of
information services
Harnessing the evidence base for successful teaching and
learning
Developing and applying tools for evidence based practice
(benchmarking, good practice guidelines, standards,
accreditation and audit)
Researching the needs of users and communities - by
practitioners for practitioners
Exploring current and future prospects for evidence-based
information practice (librarianship; information science;
informatics; information literacy; information technology)
Facilitating practitioner perspectives on implementing
evidence-based practice
Delivering effective and cost-effective LIS services
Uniting international evidence with local action
Submissions are being sought for research papers, hot topics
and posters.
Submissions in the form of a 300 word abstract should be
sent to the Program Committee Chair at ebl2005 at alia.org.au
by 1 April 2005.
