Call for Papers

Recommender Systems in the Composition of Personalized Information Services

In conjunction with the 3rd International Symposium on Intelligent and
Interactive Multimedia: Systems and Services (KES-IIMSS)

28-30 July 2010
Baltimore, USA

Scope

Recommender systems have been around for several years as tools that
help the users discover potentially interesting items (web pages,
multimedia contents, commercial products, etc) in large information
spaces. Today, with the consolidation of the Web Services architecture
and the growing hype around web mashups and the cloud computing
paradigm, there seems to be a lucrative niche for recommender systems to
automatically assemble information services in different domains of
application (e-commerce, e-learning, etc), exploiting knowledge about
the user's interests, preferences, needs and context.

We welcome papers describing ongoing research in any aspect related to
personalization in the composition and/or orchestration of interactive
services: user profiles, characterization of items and functional
elements, semantics, filtering and composition strategies, context
awareness, etc.

Publication

Accepted papers will be published by Springer Verlag as book chapters in
a volume of their Engineering Series.

Submission

Just like for the main track of KES-IIMSS, papers must be submitted in
electronic form using the PROSE software review system. For formatting,
please refer to the Springer instructions at:

http://www.springer.com/authors/book+authors?SGWID=0-154102-12-417900-0

The maximum length is ten pages in Springer format. Shorter papers will
be acceptable if they adequately convey the material to be described,
and are not so short as to be trivial or lacking in depth.
