Subject: [CNI-ANNOUNCE] papers from first e-social-science conference online
The papers from the first conference on e-social science, which was held in
late June of 2005 in Manchester, England, are now online and can be found at
this address:
http://www.ncess.ac.uk/events/conference/programme/
There are a number of interesting papers here; while e-science (that is,
information technology and data driven approaches to the physical and
biological sciences, and to engineering) is becoming widely recognized, and
innovative projects in the humanities are increasingly familiar, relatively
less attention has been paid to developments in the social sciences. This
conference, the first in a planned series of annual conferences, is intended
to address this omission.
The whole site at www.ncess.ac.uk is full of interesting information and
links, and I'd urge you to explore this as well.
