We are looking for a new Science and Collection Management Assessment
Librarian. Person will be hired at either level 2 or level 3 depending on
experience. It is not 2 different positions.

POSITION OBJECTIVE
The incumbent reports functionally to the Head of Reference within the
larger Department of Public Services. The Science Librarian serves as
liaison to the departments of Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental
Studies, Geological Sciences, Communication Sciences, and provides
specialized research/reference/collection support to these departments. This
Librarian will establish and maintain close communications between these
departments, develop outreach and instructional programs and serve as the
primary expert in the above disciplines. Information literacy is a major
focus of library service. In this role the incumbent develops and delivers
curriculum integrated instruction and creates print and electronic guides
and tools covering resources within assigned subject areas as well as
supporting general library instruction and creating departmental web pages,
and sharing in overall Library and Reference and Research Services projects,
programs, and committees. The incumbent is responsible for providing general
reference services, including participation in the evening and weekend
rotation at the reference desk and in chat and other reference services
initiatives.
