PROGRAM FOR 2006 NFAIS ANNUAL CONFERENCE NOW AVAILABLE

The full program for the 2006 NFAIS Annual Conference, Content
Unleashed: Delivering the New Information Experience, is now available
at: http://www.nfais.org/events/event_details.cfm?id=31 .

The conference will focus on the new information experience created by
search engines and the web, how it has captured user mindshare and
loyalty, and how information providers, libraries and information
centers must now transform themselves and their services so that they,
too, can deliver the new information experience.

Highlights will include an opening keynote from RJ Pittman, Co-Founder
and CEO of Groxis, on the communication and information-seeking
practices that are becoming the norm, a presentation by Stephen Abram on
how those practices are re-defining users' perceptions of information
quality and value-add, and presentations by key executives from Amazon,
Elsevier, IBM, Microsoft, Nerac, Thomson, Wiley and others on such
critical issues as the product development process required to deliver
the new information experience, technologies that will facilitate that
delivery, the cultures, mindsets and structures that foster nimble
organizations capable of rapid response to change, and the cool new
products that they now deliver.

In addition, representatives from OCLC, The University of Michigan, and
GlaxoSmithKline will discuss how libraries and information centers are
re-engineering themselves in order to meet the new communication and
information requirements of their clientele, and the New York Times,
Thomson Gale, and other information providers will discuss the pros and
cons of the new business models that they have developed in order to
meet the needs and expectations of today's information users.

Whether you are an information/technology provider seeking to compete
more effectively in an online world dominated by search engines and the
Web, or an information professional seeking to provide the experience
your clientele has come to expect, the 48th Annual NFAIS Conference will
provide you with the tools you need to reinvent your organization, to
provide competitive and satisfying services, and to unleash your content
as an integral part of the new information experience.
