[Sigsti-l] Tight timeline for submissions for next year's annual

Hi All,

Hopefully, the problem with the listserv has been uncovered. It was
rejecting, my emails anyway, due to the fact that my signature was in a
formatted form. I didn't realize this as it doesn't look especially
formatted and hasn't caused issues in the past. I hope it's fixed now.

We might be able to have some conversation about panel submissions for ASIST
2005 - better late than never. The minutes from the SIG STI meeting at this
past fall's conference in Providence are up on the SIG STI web site:
http://www.asis.org/SIG/SIGSTI/sti.html.

A few good and energetic people have been communicating by email about three
program submissions - one on scientific ontologies, one on a scientific
commons, and one on Open Access journals use and impact. Thank you very much
to those contributors!

Is anyone else out there readying something for submission? If anyone
working on known or unknown wants speaker ideas or other input, you could
send it to the list. Just be sure first that you are a member of the
sigsti-l list (via the asist web site). Attachments will also be blocked, so
you'll need to cut/paste plain text into your message.

NOTE: The submission deadline is this Friday. In trying to rectify the
listserv issue, I asked Dick twice if there was any chance of an extension of
the deadline, as they did last year, but he never responded. Please if you
are, remember to include SIG STI as the sponsoring SIG, and to indicate if it
is being jointly sponsored with another SIG (or ask them to be sure to
include that info if they are doing the submission). Longer submissions were
requested this year, including names of speakers, even if they haven't been
confirmed.

Thanks for your interest.
