Everyone:
At the end of the nomination process, we had one candidate for Chair, and
one candidate for Secretary / Treasurer. Therefore, I present to the group
your new Chair and new Secretary Treasurer.
Chair
Larry Nash White
University at Buffalo
Dr. White works in the Department of Library and Information Studies in
the Graduate School of Education at the University at Buffalo. He received
his PhD in Library and Information Studies from Florida State University
and has worked as a manager/administrator / leader in retail management,
educational, and information agencies. He is an internationally invited
speaker, presenter, and author in the areas of library administration,
leadership, organizational performance assessment, and competition for
library service. His research interests include organizational
intelligence, organizational performance assessment, and strategic
information use by organizational leaders and administrators. He teaches
in the areas of knowledge management, public libraries, LIS foundations,
library / information organization management and administration, research
methods, marketing of library services, and financial management of
libraries.
Secretary / Treasurer
Heather D. Pfeiffer, PhD
Akamai Physics, Inc.
Heather Day Pfeiffer is the Senior Software Engineer at Akamai Physics,
Inc. She is interested in knowledge engineering and management, database
management, modeling of heterogeneous architectures, collaborative
testbeds and is currently doing research on knowledge management of social
networks. She has presented both papers and posters at ICCS, KCAP, VL,
ASIS&T, ICKM, and various university conferences on topics relating to
knowledge bases, databases, Artificial Intelligence and other forms of
knowledge management and engineering. Dr. Pfeiffer has a PhD in Computer
Science from New Mexico State University, a MS in Computer Science from
New Mexico State University, and a BS in Biology/Microbiology from
University of Washington. Dr. Pfeiffer has been involved with ASIS&T
since 2006. She is the chair to the Membership Committee, and has been
involved with both SIG KM (Knowledge Management) and SIG MGT (Management).
