2017 International Society of Scientometrics and Informetrics Conference (ISSI 2017) will be held on October 16-20 in Wuhan, China. Due to the proposal of our colleagues, we have decided to extend the submission deadline for full paper and Workshop/Tutorial from 10 April to 30 April 2017.  We hope, that it will provide required time to prepare and submit papers.

The 16th International Conference on Scientometrics and Informetrics (http://www.issi2017.org) will be held on October 16-20, 2017 at Wuhan, China. The Organizing Committee would like to call for submission. The ISSI 2017 Conference will provide an international forum for scientists, research managers and administrators, as well as information and communication related professionals to share research and debate the advancements of informetrics and scientometrics theory and applications. The conference is organized under the auspices of ISSI - the International Society for Informetrics and Scientometrics (http://www.issi-society.org/).


Scope

Scientometrics and Informetrics represents a broad field with a rich history. Scientometrics has been renowned for creating tools for research assessment and evaluation as well as for use in mapping the flow of scientific ideas and people. Today, with the advancement of computing power, new technology and database systems, the impact of Scientometrics has become ubiquitous for scientists and science policy makers. The ISSI 2017 Conferences provides an international forum for scientists, research managers and administrators, as well as other professionals related to information and communication science to share research and debate on the latest advancements of Informetrics and Scientometrics theories and applications.

Therefore, the goal of ISSI 2017 is to highlight the best researchs in this field and to bring together scholars and practitioners in the area to discuss new research directions, methods and theories, and to review the history of five metrics science concepts and their implications. We ask for researchers worldwide to submit original full research papers, research-in- progress papers or posters within the area of Informetrics, with a special emphasis on the future of five metrics science concepts.

Location

Wuhan is the capital of Hubei province and is the most populous city in central China. It lies in the eastern Jianghan Plain at the intersection of the middle reaches of the Yangtze and Han rivers. Arising out of the conglomeration of three towns, Wuchang, Hankou and Hanyang, Wuhan is known as “the nine provinces’ leading thoroughfare”. It is a major transportation hub, with dozens of railways, roads and expressways passing through the city.
