Recently, we introduced the CRExplorer (http://www.crexplorer.net/) which can be used to investigate the historical roots of research fields. Recently, Werner Marx published the document “Analysing cited references via the CRExplorer: A practically oriented short guide”. Here, you can find some practical tips for this kind of investigations. The document is available on the homepage of the CRExplorer (under “Guide and Datasets”).
