[Sigmetrics] Chinese versus US article output?

Indeed, Sylvan, a Google Scholar search on "author order" produces over 2,600 hits. Scanning the first few abstracts indicates that there is a lot of variation in the meaning of author order. So first author might not be a good general method. If only science were simple! It is not.
