Singapore is seeking to appoint *2 Postdoctoral Research Fellows*, and
support the *PhD applications of 2 Doctoral Fellows*, to work on the
project *‘Singapore in the global talent race*’. The successful candidates
will work closely with Dr Wang Jue

This project is funded by Singapore’s National Research Foundation (NRF)
Science of Research, Innovation and Enterprise Grant (SRIE Award No.
NRF2014-NRF-SRIE001-023).



Suitable candidates for one position should have demonstrable experience in
bibliometric analysis using publication and patent data (strong
quantitative skills). Suitable candidates for the other position should be
a team player with demonstrable experience in web survey development and
face-to-face interview (strong qualitative skills).



The duties of the *Postdoctoral Research Fellows* will include,* inter alia*,
the following: literature review; publication and patent data search;
administering surveys; and conducting interviews. We expect the Postdoctoral
Research Fellows to contribute to preparing several theoretically-grounded
empirical articles using the data collected, as well as organise and host
two workshops and present the research findings at conferences and seminars
(in Singapore and abroad). In addition, the Postdoctoral Research Fellows are
to lead and to co-supervise all Doctoral Fellows and research assistants
associated with this project under the general guidance of Dr Wang and Dr
Chou. We expect successful applicants to evidence strong interests and
enthusiasm in talent migration policies and entrepreneurship. All
applicants for the positions of Postdoctoral Research Fellows must have a
good doctoral degree in political science, public policy, public
administration, business, economics, or a closely related field at the
start of the post.



The position for Postdoctoral Research Fellows will be funded for 3 years
on an annual, renewable, contract, with the possibility of extension for
additional years depending on further funding availability. The position is
expected to start in *March 2015 (negotiable)*. Remuneration is highly
competitive.



*Doctoral Fellows* will conduct his/her research that leads to a Doctor of
Philosophy (PhD) in public policy and administration under the general
supervision of Dr Wang and Dr Chou. A suitable candidate will be a team
player with a first class honours degree (Masters) from migration studies,
public policy, political science or related disciplines; solid research
training in policy analysis, quantitative methods as well as interviewing;
and an enthusiastic interest in talent migration and entrepreneurship.
