Thank you for your feedback on CitNetExplorer.

There may indeed be problems on Mac computers. CitNetExplorer has been tested mainly on Windows systems. If anyone experiences problems on Mac computers, please send me a message and provide as much information as possible (e.g., text of error message, screenshot, operating system). This would be very helpful for me.

We will try to solve problems on Mac computers as soon as possible.

Thanks a lot for this new application.
CitNet can be of invaluable help for all those who, like me, use citation networks for analytic or evaluative purposes.
However, as it is in its initial stage, some bugs or shortcomings must to be fixed.
Specifically the problem I am experiencing has to do with the level of Java security: I can run the program even if I set the security level as intermediate.
I know that this is my problem or at least a problem related to Mac OS X, but it could be convenient to notice it somehow in your documentation.

Today CitNetExplorer version 1.0.0 has been released. CitNetExplorer ('Citation Network Explorer') is a new software tool for analyzing and visualizing citation networks of scientific publications. CitNetExplorer is available at www.citnetexplorer.nl<http://www.citnetexplorer.nl>. The website also provides a tutorial that can be used to get started with CitNetExplorer in a quick and easy way.

CitNetExplorer complements our VOSviewer tool for visualizing bibliometric networks. VOSviewer can be used to visualize term co-occurrence networks and co-citation and bibliographic coupling networks of publications, journals, and authors. CitNetExplorer is specifically aimed at the analysis and visualization of networks of citation relations between individual publications. Together, VOSviewer and CitNetExplorer can be used to visualize all commonly studied types of bibliometric networks.
