Dear SIGMETRICS members

The Elsevier Bibliometric Research Program board members<http://ebrp.elsevier.com/boardMembers.asp> are pleased to announce the 2013 research proposals round.
This round will be closed on February 15th 2013

For the second year, Elsevier will be providing datasets, free of charge to eligible research institutions and groups, to carry out strategic research in the field of research assessment, informetrics and bibliometrics using Elsevier data, and to present the outcomes in peer-reviewed journal papers and at international conferences.

The EBRP welcomes research proposals from research scholars involved in various scientific fields and from all over the world to submit a proposal for research in their respective fields based on bibliographic data that will be provided free of charge by Elsevier.

Research proposals to be granted are selected through a careful peer review process conducted by a Scientific Board to ensure quality, originality, appropriateness and significance. Proposals that contribute to the understanding of scientific developments, trends, scholarly publications, communications, usage and so forth are some examples of topics solicited by the EBRP.

Please note that the main objective of this program is to stimulate the development of new approaches, methodologies and analysis of the data. Therefore, purely descriptive or any type of research aimed at measuring an individual institution, country or person will not be considered.

To read more about the types of research the EBRP supports, download a proposal template, look at granted projects and submit a proposal please visit our website at www.ebrp.elsevier.com<http://www.ebrp.elsevier.com>
