Dear colleagues,
As some of you know there has been a series of workshops paying attention to the dynamics of the science system and how to visualize and model them.
Earlier appeared two special issues:
Börner, Katy, and Andrea Scharnhorst. 2009. “Visual conceptualizations and models of science. Editorial. Special issue ‘Science of Science: Conceptualizations and Models of Science’.” Journal of Informetrics 3 (3) (July): 161-172. doi:10.1016/j.joi.2009.03.008. http://linkinghub.elsevier.com/retrieve/pii/S1751157709000315.
Börner, Katy, Wolfgang Glänzel, Andrea Scharnhorst, and Peter van den Besselaar. 2011. “Modeling science: studying the structure and dynamics of science.” Scientometrics 89 (1) (June 28): 347-348. doi:10.1007/s11192-011-0429-3. http://www.springerlink.com/index/10.1007/s11192-011-0429-3.
Now, a collection appeared in the Complexity Series of Springer which contains a number of review article about different models of science dynamics.
