Research Associate in Information Science/Scientometrics
Salary £28,139 - £30,747 pa
Statistical Cybermetrics Research Group
Duration: 2 years 9 months

To study and develop Web-based methods of evaluating the impact of
researchers as part of the new EU-funded ACUMEN project, as part of the
Statistical Cybermetrics Research Group, a world-leader in webometrics.  In
the nature of the post it is not expected that you will have prior
experience of similar work but those with a PhD in an area related to
Information Science or Computer Science will be considered, and those with
experience of scientometrics or webometrics are particularly encouraged to
apply. You will have working knowledge of scholarly uses of the Web and
basic statistics, and will be able to apply your existing research skills to
this new area. The project involves international collaboration and you
would be expected to regularly visit other countries in Europe for team
meetings and conferences.

Good communication and team working skills are essential, and a knowledge of
one or more other European languages would be an advantage.  Applicants from
