Dear colleagues,

In reaction to my posting last week with the figures in which the Impact
Factor, the c/p ratio, and the Immediacy Index were grouped together as a
single component, someone noted a previous publication by

Weiping Yue, Concepsion S. Wilson, and Ronald Rousseau, "The Immediacy Index
and the Journal Impact Factor: Two Highly Correlated Derived Measures," The
Canadian Journal of Information and Library Science, 28(1) (2004) 33-48.

The authors argue that the II can be used as a predictor for the IF in the
next year because they are correlated.

With best wishes,

Loet
