>From the intro: The Centre was founded in 1968 as a research group
attached to the central administration of the Academy but soon after
became an autonomous unit pursuing conceptual and empirical research in
the growing field of Science Studies. Later on the Centre enlarged the
scope of its activity by incorporating a History of Science and
Scientometrics sectors. Since March 1995 it is established as CSSHS - the
only unit devoted to Science Studies.
