I think a panel is a great idea. I'm sure Henry, Howard and Kate would have
lots of stories to share given their decades of affiliation with Dr.
Garfield. Including international perspectives on the impact of Dr.
Garfield's work by Andrea, Judit, and/or others will be important. I recall
Dr. Garfield was very generous to serve as the keynote speaker for the first
metrics symposium Ronald Rousseau and I had organized at the 2009 ASIST
meeting in Vancouver.

Dear All,

For some unknown reason I get messages from SIGMET officers rather
sporadically.

Yes I can try to interest people in a panel, discussing Eugene Garfield's
contribution to bibliometrics. I was thinking of contacting Henry Small,
Howard White or Kate McCain, Andrea and Dietmar. Other suggestions are
welcome.

Regards

Judit

Hi Tim, hi all,

I think the panel is a great idea and we should do it. Judit (the next
Prize medal awardee - congrats again, Judit!) had a couple of ideas
already, maybe she could lead this? She might also know SIG/MET members
whoe were lucky enough to know Eugene Garfield personally.
