Dear all,
The workshop has been accepted! Yay.
Zoreh, can you email ASIST about sponsorship from Elsevier and Altmetric.com? I will forward you the emails from Elsevier and Altmeric.com. We need to get them information on how to submit the monies for sponsorship.
We’ll need to send the call out for submissions asap. @Stefanie, what was the procedure last year?
Cheers,
Tim

This seems a worthwhile idea, continuing the 'tradition' of having a workshop
of this sort on this important topic.

Contribution of the submission
------------------------------
The submission is a proposal for a workshop on informetric and scientometric
research. This is a subject of considerable interest in the academic community
and therefore is likely to attract a good number of participants. The proposal
is well written. The scope is well outlined and the detailed structure of the
workshop is given.

Comments for the authors
------------------------
The organizers presented a detailed plan for the proposed workshop, which
includes short presentations, posters and a student paper contest. In my view,
it would be also beneficial to hold one or two panel discussions around
specific topics that are likely to encourage broader participation and debate.
For instance, limitations and adverse effects of metrics is a very good topic
to have a panel discussion on. Another panel session could be on altmetrics
and the role of social media on metrics, which the authors listed as one of
the more recent directions in the metrics research.
