Dear Kim,

dear all,

it is definitely a good idea to include ‚student‘ in the URL J

Maybe we can also give some information about the two events in both calls
for papers – so that it is easier for people to decide, where to submit.

Best

Isabella

Yes, last year there was lots of confusion. But the submission links were
very similar. I’m hoping this year I have enough characters in the
submission link to spell out STUDENT- hoping that will help with the
confusion. I’m not sure what else we can do

Altmetric sponsored a best altmetric paper together with figshare in 2015
and a best paper with Digital Science last year!

I do not see a problem with contacting participants afterwards if they have
agreed.

If they want to sponsor a best paper award again this year, we might have to
figure something out to distinguish it from the best student paper award!
There was a lot of confusion about that last year as papers were submitted
in the wrong place. We should involve Kimberly on this!

Dear Tim

I don't think that Altmetric.com sponsored us before. I don't see any
problem with sending out a follow-up email

Judit

Hi all,

Elsevier is on board for the SIG/MET meeting sponsorship.

Altmetric.com seems to be on board also, but they want to know if they can
send attendees a post-meeting email follow up regarding using Altmetric.com
data. Did Altmetric.com do this in the past? Is this a problem in any way?
Let me know.

Cheers,
Tim

Dear Catherine and Lashaon,

I hope this email finds you well. I?m writing today in my role as the
current chair of the ASIS&T SIG/MET group in hopes that you will continue to
support our efforts in metric research by sponsoring awards at the SIG/MET
workshop this year. The ASIS&T Annual Meeting is in Washington, DC this year
and takes place Oct. 27-Nov 1, 2017. We are in the process of submitting our
annual workshop proposal to ASIS&T and we would be very happy to indicate
that Elsevier will continue to support research in this area. Elsevier has
been generous enough to help us promote metric research in the past by
sponsoring awards during our SIG/MET workshop and we?d love to see our
partnership continue this year.

Please let me know if this is something Elsevier is able to do this year.
Thank you for your consideration.

Best wishes,
Timothy D Bowman, 2017 SIG/MET Chair
