Cheers, Tim From: Stacy Konkiel Date: Monday, April 24, 2017 at 1:44 PM To: Timothy D Bowman Subject: Fwd: Altmetric.com Support of SIG/MET Workshop, Oct 27-Nov 1, 2017 Hi Tim, That's great news. Opt-out is of course agreeable to us. Maybe we could in the registration confirmation email for the workshop have a blurb, towards the bottom, to the effect of: "Registrants will receive an email from award sponsors following the SIG/MET workshop. To opt out of receiving this email, please send an email with the subject "Opt Out SIG MET" to stacy at altmetric.com no later than [date of workshop]." But we can sort out the specifics later. As for the award itself, Altmetric and Figshare will be jointly sponsoring an award, $1000 USD total. Ideally, the award should be given to a paper dealing with altmetrics-related research. But we can amend that requirement in the case that no such papers are submitted. Feel free to indicate our joint support in your workshop proposal, and please do let me know the status of the proposal once it's been decided upon.
