[Sigmet-officers] Leadership event

Dear all,

Judit, thanks for your offer.  The Leadership event starts two hours after you arrive so you might consider it a bit of a rush to represent us at that event?  If you do, you may prefer someone else (e.g. Stasa) to represent us at that event and to rather be a representative at the Welcome event.

Cassidy has sent me details of the Leadership event:
“This year’s Leadership Development Program at the annual meeting would like to feature the Local Chapters and SIGs. The meeting is scheduled for Sunday, October 9, from 5:30 to 6:30. The program committee is currently seeking volunteers from each of the local chapters and SIGs to attend the meeting and provide general information as well guidance for how to take on leadership roles within ASIST.
Rather than have each representative address the attendees as a whole, small groups will be formed based on attendee interest. Given the 1 hour time allotment, attendees will have time to attend 3 small groups. The small group format will allow for informal information exchange the opportunity for discussion and questions.
If you or another member of your Chapter is interested in participating in this event or have any questions, please have them contact by September 26, Andrea Copeland at ajapzon at iupui.edu.”

Best,
Jonathan.

Dear All,

I will only arrive to New Orleans on Sunday afternoon at 15:30. It seems to me that I will be able to make it to the Leadership Development event, so if you need a SIG/MET representative there, I can do that.
Pls let me know.
Regards,
Judit

Dear all,
?
Following on from Cassidy?s email, I could not find an email referring to a SIG rep for the Leadership event; if anyone receives (/has received) any information on this could you please forward?
?
However, the Welcome event refers to SIG representation: ?Special Interest Groups and Chapters will be represented, giving members and potential members a fun opportunity to share ideas and get acquainted.?? At meetings that I attended, SIGs have had more than reps at this event; who wishes to represent the SIG at that event??
?
Best,
Jonathan.

Excellent. I am hosting the brunch, so I will also be there, but I would prefer to have someone else do it, since I will be doing a lot of talking already.

Also, has someone contacted you about participating in the Leadership event? They will want one rep for our SIG at this event (Sunday evening).

Dear Stasa,
?
Thanks for suggesting that we should have a representative at the New Members/Attendees Brunch, for asking for volunteers, and for volunteering to represent us.?
?
I will be in New Orleans from Friday, so I can definitely attend that event.? Would you prefer me to take this one on, given that a delay in your flight might result in your being late for the event?
?
Best,
Jonathan.

Dear all,

I believe that it would be good to be present. Will anyone like to attend? I would be happy to do it. My flight is scheduled to arrive at 10:30 that morning. Hopefully I can make it.

Best,
Stasa

Dear SIG Officers,

At the ASIS&T 2011 Annual Meeting, the ASIS&T Membership Committee will
be hosting the "New Members and First Conference Attendees Brunch" to
welcome new ASIS&T members and first-time attendees on October 9, 2011
at noon. We would like to invite a spokesperson from each SIG to give
an elevator speech for your SIG. You may sit and eat, enjoy new
friends, and then do a short (3 minute) introduction about your group.

Please contact Rong Tang (rong.tang at simmons.edu) via email and provide the
name of the SIG, and the name and contact information of your SIG
spokesperson who will be attending the event.

We look forward to seeing you in New Orleans!

ASIS&T Membership Committee
