[Sigmet-officers] Updates?

Dear all,

I also apologise for not updating the list members of events.  I will give a brief update today and update more fully in early June.  In common with Cassidy I have had a very busy month.

Anyway the main developments are:
(a)       In addition to the workshop proposal, we are going to submit a panel proposal.
(b)      We have agreed to endorse a panel proposal organised by Dangzhi Zhao, called ‘Bibliometrics and LIS education: How do they fit together?’  I have been in email contact with Dangzhi.
(c)       I notified the winners of the paper contest in early May.  I subsequently conferred with Dietmar and Judit on the prizes and informed the winners of their prizes.
(d)      As regards announcing the winners, Chaoqun had previously suggested this.  I agree that it is a great idea about announcing the winners over our listserv and the general ASIS&T listserv.   Chaoqun, could you please draft an announcement and send it to me.

Stasam I would be very pleased if you were to send me your suggestions on the attached panel proposal.  I too value your attention to detail.  Also any suggestions from anyone else on this list would be much appreciated.  However, please note that the deadline for panel submissions is May 31.

Best regards,
Jonathan.

Dear all,

I hope you are having good beginning of summer. It's been a while since
there's been any activity on the list and I was just wondering whether
we are still working on the workshop and whether we are
organizing/sponsoring any panels? I would be more than happy to help
with any of those.

I was also wondering whether we have notified the recipients of the
student paper competition of the results? It might be good to post the
announcement regarding the outcome on the SIGMETRICS and/or ASIST lists.

Best,
Stasa
