Thanks for offering to help or take over from Gene Garfield.  Gene has provided this very useful service for many years and I am pleased that a SIG/MET officer will be able to help in this matter.  It would also be helpful if you were to provide ‘added value’, such as links to articles that appeared in the previous week.

Dear all,

I would be happy to help with this. I don't mind taking it over, either. I also have an idea on how to do this. Instead of distributing info on individual articles, I propose we have weekly SIGMET or METRICS digest. It would be one email message per week named "digest"  that would contain bibliographic information, abstracts, and if appropriate links to the related articles that came out the previous week. We may decide to do this on two-week basis instead.
