Hi Anna --

US News & World Report is one *subjective* ranking. They last ranked
Library and Information Science programs in 1999. The rankings are here:

http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/grad/rankings/lib/brief/lib_brief.php

I think most library professionals would agree that these five programs
are highly respected. Depending on your son's specific interests in the
field, however, there may be better programs out there. A complete list
of all of the current ALA-accredited programs in USA and Canada can be
found at:

http://www.ala.org/ala/accreditationb/LISDIR2004.pdf

Best wishes!
