Dear ASIS&T Members:

When you're packing your bags for the October 2011 ASIS&T Annual Meeting in New Orleans, LA, don't forget to include donated items for this year's InfoShare Silent Auction at the International Reception, sponsored by SIG-III.

The International Reception will be held Monday, October 10, 2011, from 8-10pm, in the New Orleans Marriott.  The reception will feature the Silent Auction, raffle ticket sales, as well as live music.  During the reception the 2011 International Paper Contest first place winner will be introduced.  The International Reception will recognize represented countries, so we encourage ASIS&T members to attend in traditional, national costumes.

Proceeds from the Silent Auction fund SIG-III's InfoShare Program, which awards one year ASIS&T memberships to information professionals and students in developing countries for whom the cost of membership would be a financial burden.

SIG-III will leave a box by the registration table in which ASIS&T members may drop off Silent Auction donation items.  You may also bring your donated Silent Auction items to the International Reception prior to 8pm while SIG-III members are setting up for the event.

If unable to attend the Annual Meeting this year, please consider sending Silent Auction donations with a friend or by postal mail.
