Subject: [Sigiii-l] panels for ASIST 2006

Dear SIG III members

Below is the list of panel topics we discussed at the SIG meeting in
Charlotte
last November. Could you let me know if any members are putting together
any
of these panels or are interested in putting them together. The names in
parenthesis are the members who proposed the panels, so you can get in touch
with them directly if you are interested in submitting a proposal. Topics
that
other SIGs proposed that would be of interest to SIG-III are listed in the
SIG
newsletter. The deadline for submission of panels is February 13th.

* Information seeking behavior in rural areas of developing countries -
Ifeanyichukwu (Ify) Njoku
* Cultural perspectives on trust in information (Toni Carbo and Aaron Bowen)
* Review of projects related to digitzation of the cultural heritage (Bahaa
El
Hadidy)
* SHaping the future of the governance of the Internet (Bahaa El Hadidy)
* Digital Divide: Shaping the digital future for all (Bahaa)
* Learning and education of international students in LIS programs (how LIS
education is translated into local context). (Yin Zhang)
