The UNESCO treaty on cultural diversity, which is set to be approved by
the UNESCO general assembly tomorrow (thursday Oct 20th), is a symbolic
victory that may provide some 'agenda setting' support in making it more
difficult for trade ministers to sign away audiovisual policy at the
WTO/GATS negotiations in the immediate future.
