Whereas non-English speakers may be aware of their need to 
master English to exploit information that could be of use to them, 
you could say that part of English-only speakers' information 
illiteracy is that they do necessarily not even consider/worry about 
the amount of non-English knowledge they are missing (it is 
unconscious incompetence)
