Dear all,

SIG III (International Information Issues) cordially invites all of ASIST
2002 Annual Meeting attendees, especially those from foreign countries to
the International Reception sponsored by Elsevier.  

The Reception will be held at the conference hotel Salon 3/4 on November
18 (Monday) at 8:00pm. It is one of the biggest cultural and social events
of the Meeting.  Each year, SIG III puts together this unique opportunity
for the entire ASIST community to come together to share experiences,
cultures, food, and joy.  

A silent auction and a riffle will also take place during the Reception to
help support InfoShare -- a program sponsored by SIG III which awards
one-year ASIST memberships to information professionals in developing
countries for whom the cost of membership would be a financial burden. 
The ASIST International Paper Contest top two winners and the Eugene
Garfield Travel Grant winners will also be introduced.
