Hello, colleagues. I'm forwarding on the acceptance notice for our proposed workshop for the 2017 ASIST Annual Meeting. I've contacted the chairs to ask about timing (trying to get our workshop scheduled on Saturday the 28th). We will shortly need to send out a call for papers for the workshop.
I would like one person to volunteer to help me with coordinating the workshop and associated papers. If you are interested, please contact me off-list.
Thanks to many of you who contributed to designing and revising this workshop. I am excited about hosting it!

Comments for the authors
------------------------
The topic of this workshop is quite timely and relevant, and the intellectual
content of the proposal is very compelling and well thought-out. The mechanics
of the workshop are a bit underdeveloped, and also a bit disconcerting. There
is very heavy emphasis on papers, it basically seems like another paper
session, which is unfortunate given that the half-day duration of a workshop
affords the opportunity for deeper discussion and more robust interaction
among workshop participants. It is not clear how the breakout sessions will
operate, and it is unclear if there will be enough participants to have them
separate out into these topics, or what the purpose or benefit of that would
be. I strongly suggest that the organizers consider reworking the schedule to
place more emphasis on interactive activities and less on papers. Perhaps
instead of papers, the organizers could solicit individuals to write shorter
position papers on one of the three topics, and then serve as panels to kick
off the three topics. The day could begin with the keynote and then include
three pairs of panel discussions followed by brainstorming activity. However,
that's just my $0.02, the organizers of course have the freedom to organize as
they see fit, and I would still argue to accept in its current form as the
topic is very timely and it is important to see SIG IEP represented at ASIS&T
by running a workshop. I very much appreciate the intellectual effort that the
organizers put into deciding on the topic and motivating it, and the
suggestions about format are an attempt to ensure that the organizers can make
the best possible use of the intellectual work that they've done and stimulate
insightful and timely discussions that can further work in the information
ethics and policy space.

Contribution of the submission

This half day workshop proposes to concentrate on three themes:
Teaching information and ethics
Engagement with policymakers
and Ethics in Information Science
Highlighting and discussing these issues is timely and of importance
The workshop outline is in a rather preliminary state, only one speaker was
recruited so far. This is a workshop proposal, so at this point of time I
cannot say anything about the presenters.

The organizers want to organize this work to draw attention about fake news
and the trust on information. I think it is a timely and great topic for this
conference.

The topic of this workshop is certainly very interesting and timely. The only
few minor comments i can think about are:
- how to engage audience, maybe a panel including educators, practitioners,
users, and audience will be a good one
- maybe a poster session to include broad audience.
- will you set up a website so that more info can be provided and generate
more awareness about your workshop
