From bloveday at albany.edu Wed Jul 27 22:13:08 2016 From: bloveday at albany.edu (Loveday-Chesley, Brandi L) Date: Thu, 28 Jul 2016 02:13:08 +0000 Subject: [Sigifp-l] Soliciting Articles for the Special Section: IEP December 2016/ January 2017 Message-ID: Greetings SIG IEP (and beyond): SIG IEP is responsible for the Special Section in the ASIST Bulletin for December 2016/January 2017. You may wonder, what does this mean to me? Well, it means that I need your help! As guest editor for the special section I need at least 6 articles on some development, research, or interest in Information Policy, Information Security, Information Ethics, or Cyber Security, of roughly 2500-3000 words to submit to the editor of the Bulletin. Topics do not need to be U.S. based. In fact, international developments and interests are welcome! This special section helps us reach the rest of the organization and beyond with the importance of information policy issues and how it intersects their own interests. Over the last 5 years SIG IEP has been revitalized and the special section and the hard work of the folks in elected positions have brought SIG IEP into the forefront of ASIST. Keeping that momentum helps us expand our influence in bringing information policy and ethics issues to light. If you are a teacher (any level), please poll your students for articles. If you see something appropriate, ask them if they would like to submit it! However, please note that this is not a peer reviewed publication and thus *cannot* be used as a publication requirement for Ph.D. work. Submission is not a guarantee of publication. Articles for consideration need to meet the following criteria: * 2000-3000 words * 12 Pt Arial Font * Magazine Style article - this is not a research paper, but a research paper can be reformatted with minimal endnotes to match the format necessary. Please see https://www.asist.org/publications/bulletin/ for formatting and even ideas for topics. * Any topic within the purview of Information Policy, Information Ethics, Information Assurance, etc. * Email submissions to bloveday at albany.edu with subject "ASIST Bulletin Dec 16/Jan 17". * Submissions are due to above email before September 5, 2016 (Labor Day). * Membership to ASIST is *not* a prerequisite for submission. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at bloveday at albany.edu. I look forward to seeing the submissions from professionals, practitioners, researchers, and students alike. Please distribute this request as you see fit - the more the merrier! Please help me make this Special Section in ASIST's Bulletin interesting and informative.
