Second International Conference on e-Government (ICEG 2006) to be held on
October 12-13, 2006 at the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA. SIS
faculty members Toni Carbo (and past ASIS&T President) and Ken Sochats will
serve as co-chairs for the conference, which includes keynote speaker Larry
Olson, Chief Technology Officer, State of Texas and Former CIO, Commonwealth
of Pennsylvania. The title of his talk is e-GovernmentA View from the
States, from Pennsylvania to Texas.
As the rate of computer literacy increases around the world at an
exponential rate, many governments (at all levels) have begun making many
services (car registration and voting for example) available online. The
development of this global e-Government environment has resulted in
economic, political, and academic questions that must be addressed from both
theoretical and practical points of view. The conference will feature an
international group of presenters and practitioners who will share their
research and practical experience in the field of e-Government.
Additionally, the conference will sponsor mini-tracks on evaluating
e-Government and e-Government in developing nations.
Registration deadline is September 28, 2006. Please visit
