2006 Annual Meeting Knocks
Dear SIG-IFP Members, the year has come to a close and in less than two
weeks we meet in Austin, Texas. The SIG-IFP Planning meeting will be on
Tuesday November 7 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Room 1. I hope to see
many of you there, and to share ideas that will strengthen your SIG as
we go into 2007. We will also be entertaining ideas for papers and panel
topics for the 2007 Meeting.
This time slot has a conflict with a panel that some members might want
to attend, and so we are also planning to have a dutch-treat lunch "get
together" on Wednesday November 8 at 12:00 p.m., to get to know each
other and update those who might not be able to make the planning
meeting. We will have a lunch sign-up sheet on the message board, and
hope to have many takers.
Tom Lipinski to Chair SIG-IFP!
Please join me in welcoming Tom Lipinski as the incoming SIG Chair! Tom
is an Associate Professor in the School of Information Studies at the
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and serves as Co-Director of the
school's Center for Information Policy Research. Welcome Tom!

THREE panels that should be very interesting!
SIG Web Site Moved to Milwaukee!
In the past few months, the SIG-IFP web site moved from the College of
Information at Florida State University to the University of Wisconsin
at Milwaukee, where it is hosted by the School of Information Studies.
The link to the website in the SIG list is in the process of being
updated. Watch out for more information on this.
Adios!
As I indicated in my previous Chair Letter, I have really enjoyed
working with all those who volunteered their time working with SIG-IFP
and I look forward to more collaboration in the future, both within and
outside the SIG. Best wishes and good luck!
