This client-facing position is a hybrid between Information Architect and Interactive Art Director. Or, someone with the curiosity of a scientist and the passion of an artist.
This person must be able to come up with the site IA, put together the wireframes & schematics, then do the actual design.
The Senior Experience Designer‘s role is to lead the research and strategy efforts as part of an interdisciplinary team. This person will help define and drive the success of the client’s online efforts.
Responsibilities:
Define deliverables, create information architectures and interaction design to create outstanding experiences
Develop the business requirements, audience and competitive analysis, content inventories, taxonomies, creative briefs, information architecture strategies, interaction models and other client documentation.
Ensure quality and growth of skills towards innovative designs and experiences.e briefs, information architecture strategies, interaction models and other client documentation.
Plan and conduct user requirements gathering and analysis, competitive research, conceptual modeling and usability testing
Design and specify user interfaces and information architecture using participatory and iterative design techniques including customer interviews, usability testing and other forms of requirements discovery
Produce user requirements specifications, personas, storyboards, scenarios, journeys, prototypes, and design specifications
Effectively communicate research findings, conceptual ideas and detailed design rationale both verbally and visually
Manage the interaction design process, drives decisions, tracks issues, and estimates resource needs and schedules
Participate as a contributor to an interdisciplinary team that includes visual designers, project managers, strategists, and developers
Contribute to the definition of scope and phasing of project timelines
Champion principles of usability and user-centered design
Contributes and help evolve the Company's processes, best practices and methodologies --- including capabilities and approaches, including design tools, and key deliverables
Understand the client’s business needs; provides insight beyond current project(s)
Run effective working client meetings and makes presentations to mid-level clients
Run internal and external meetings –such as status, team briefings, brainstorming sessions
Participates in building a collaborative and inspiring work environment
Build strong working relationships with internal team members, demonstrating strong skills in conflict resolution
Have a point of view on industry structure, trends, initiatives, and issues
Support business development activities as a Lead including contributing to sales strategy, project estimation, sales presentations and proposal creation
Pursue opportunities on behalf of the client that go beyond the obvious or accepted solution
Stay current, understands and can effectively share information on emerging digital communication trends
Requirements:
5-7 Years experience in User Experience/Graphic Design
Online portfolio samples of your interactive design work, including planning and strategy documents, gap analyses, user requirements specifications, wireframes, schematics, personas, storyboards, scenarios, journeys, prototypes, and design specifications
Bachelors degree in interaction design or library science/human factors design
2-3+ years experience managing direct reports
Understanding of creative processes as well as technical development/deployment processes
Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills, especially in situations involving consensus and team building with strong problem solving skills
Experience with all interactive surfaces; websites, smart phones, tablet PCs, touch-screen monitors, kiosks, game consoles, and interactive TV
Proven ability to understand customer needs, motivations and behaviors and translate them into actionable deliverables
Proven knowledge of user interface design processes and methodologies
Strong understanding of using web analytics data to inform design decisions and an intermediate understanding of SEO strategies
Advanced proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Axure, Visio, InDesign, Omnigraffle, Balsamiq, etc.
Knowledge of usability heuristics and other relevant literature relating to interaction design, user experience, HCI, etc.
