[Ed Housman]

This is Ed Housman, one of the founders of SIGIA-L.  That was 8 or 9 years ago, 
and as time ticks on things (and people) start getting crotchety and lose the 
uumph they had in their youth.  It was a successful experiment but it appears 
it's getting abused and diluted.

I am retired now, and just keep an eye on the action.  Rarely post anything. 
 But I wonder whether we should move to some more modern social interaction 
medium, Facebook, for example.  That might be dangerous though because of the 
huge number of curious visitors that could further dilute and sidetrack the 
conversation.  Perhaps it's best to do a little housecleaning and rule-changing 
-- and keep our little private space going.
